Even the youngest of children on Taquile Island participate in the daily chores of everyday life, whether it be collecting pure drinking water or firewood for cooking. This little girl, not more than 5 years old, with a load of kindling on her back, is on her way home where life continues to be relatively unaffected by the modern influences of the mainland.
