Swimming Paddy
Lai Chau, Vietnam
Like something out of a Mark Twain novel, the patchwork of rice paddies dotted with bamboo huts has a sentiment of a time gone by. Here, children laugh and play in a flooded rice paddy beside their home, giving new meaning to the term "in-ground" swimming pool. Scenes like this are a common sight in the mountains of Northern Vietnam. The children are so happy and carefree that you wish they’d never grow up and that you’d never have to leave.
